2018 Conference

Applications for the17th Annual EGSS Conference Organizing Committee are now open for the following roles:

 

Internal Affairs Coordinator: Oversee communication/processes about the conference within McGill, alongside the Conference Chair (e.g., organize the conference program, reserve IT equipment/rooms, assist with drafting the mission statement of the conference etc.)

External Affairs Coordinator: Oversee communication/processes about the conference external to McGill, alongside the Conference Chair (e.g., invite renown scholars to speak at our conference and organize their accommodations, scheduling keynote speakers and workshops, assist with drafting the mission statement of the conference etc.).

Submissions Coordinator: Oversee student poster, workshop, and symposia submissions (e.g., create an abstract submission/awards application, monitor emails, create an abstract review committee, organize the distribution of poster/travel awards, schedule poster/oral presentations etc.).

Finance Coordinator: Oversee conference budget and finances alongside the Conference Chair and the Sponsorship Coordinators (e.g., keep a record of all conference-related expenses, complete funding applications, and organize the keynote dinner)

Sponsorships Coordinators (2 positions available): Oversee promotion of conference to potential sponsors, seek out financial or in-kind sponsorships, search for caterers to provide food/coffee at the conference, organize the conference bags, and complete funding applications.

Communications Coordinator: Oversee website and social media communications, create flyers, banners, and emails to advertise the conference, and assist the Conference Chair to develop the conference program.

Volunteer Subcommittee Coordinator: Oversee volunteer subcommittee applications for conference preparation and day-of responsibilities.
