The Education Graduate Student’s Society (EGSS) is an open and free society for all graduate students in Faculty of Education at McGill University.
Be Heard
EGSS is a vehicle for the collective voice of the graduate student body to be recognized and respected within the Faculty of Education, University community and community at large.
We aim to represent and advocate for the graduate student body at all levels of decision making at McGill University and at all agencies or other bodies which deliberate on the affairs of graduate students.
Get Support
EGSS plans to share the necessary information, activities, resources and opportunities to support academic and social student life. Graduate students should have support in their academic development, political involvement and social engagements. We intend to facilitate these experiences, relationships, and partnerships in and outside of the University community.
Work Together
EGSS works within an anti-oppressive framework by fostering inclusivity, member participation and executive transparency. EGSS will create and promote opportunities for anti-oppressive, critical exchange and cross-cultural competence among the Membership. Our goal is to raise awareness of issues of diversity and equity in education, with particular attention to McGill and the Faculty of Education.
Land Acknowledgment
McGill University is on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. We acknowledge and thank the diverse Indigenous peoples whose presence marks this territory on which we as EGSS members gather.
